On 5 June we celebrate <\/span>World Environment Day<\/b>established by the United Nations to raise awareness among citizens, companies and governments about the urgency of protecting our planet. Two days later, on 7 June, we celebrate the <\/span>World Food Security Day<\/b>promoted by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and FAO to highlight the need to ensure safe and nutritious food globally.<\/span><\/p>\n

We at DKR, who have been involved in the production and distribution of <\/span>water dispensers for schools<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>offices<\/span><\/a>the <\/span>Horeca sector<\/span> e <\/span>water houses<\/span><\/a>we are particularly sensitive to environmental issues. Indeed, we believe in the responsibility of offering <\/span>sustainable solutions that reduce environmental impact<\/b> and promote a conscious use of such a precious resource as water. Therefore, we actively support initiatives that aim to protect the environment and raise awareness of the value of water as a primary and indispensable commodity in our daily lives, but also in food production.<\/span><\/p>\n

This dual focus drives us to create products that combine <\/span>functionality, sustainability and technology<\/b>helping to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles and promote a culture of responsible consumption.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"World<\/p>\n

World Environment Day: a renewed global commitment<\/strong><\/h2>\n

La<\/span> World Environment Day<\/span><\/a> was established in 1972, in the aftermath of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment, a historic moment that marked a paradigm shift in international environmental policy. Since then, 5 June has been the annual occasion to reflect on the relationship between man and nature, promote sustainable behaviour and <\/span>encourage concrete actions to protect the planet<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Environmental protection is no longer an optional issue: it is the basis for ensuring health and well-being for future generations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The theme that will characterise the 2025 Day is the<\/span>elimination of plastic pollution<\/b>one of the most serious threats to the global environment. Hundreds of millions of tonnes of plastic are produced each year, with a significant proportion ending up in seas, rivers and landfills, with devastating effects on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Republic of Korea will be the host country for the global initiatives due to its leading role in international negotiations for a treaty to effectively limit plastic pollution, which it is hoped can be formally adopted by the end of 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Water at the centre of environmental protection<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Plastic pollution particularly affects aquatic environments, contaminating rivers, lakes and oceans. This phenomenon has a severe impact on ecosystems and freshwater reserves, but also on the human food chain. Protect <\/span>water quality<\/b> therefore becomes indispensable to protect both biodiversity and the health of populations.<\/span><\/p>\n

World Food Security Day: ensuring healthy and sustainable food<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Food safety is a<\/span> essential right that guarantees access to safe, nutritious and sustainably produced food<\/b>. Millions of people each year suffer from food-borne diseases, making it urgent to promote good practices throughout the supply chain.<\/span><\/p>\n

La <\/span>World Food Security Day<\/span><\/a>celebrated on 7 June, calls for strengthening global cooperation between governments, industries, producers and consumers to raise food safety standards and prevent risks to health and the economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

The intertwining of water, environment and food production<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Water represents the <\/span>key resource for agricultural and livestock production<\/b>irrigation, livestock management and food processing are closely dependent on adequate water availability and quality.<\/span><\/p>\n

A healthy environment, with balanced and contamination-free ecosystems, is essential to maintain fertile soils and pollutant-free waters, thus ensuring <\/span>healthy and nutritious food<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Climate change and the challenges for food security<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Climate change, <\/span>amplified by pollution and environmental degradation<\/b>They affect water and nutrient cycles, altering agricultural productivity and increasing the vulnerability of food systems, especially in poorer regions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Managing water resources sustainably and preserving the environment is therefore a <\/span>key priority<\/b> to achieve food security in the long term.<\/span><\/p>\n

Water, although essential to life, is a finite resource that is increasingly at risk from exploitation and pollution. According to the UN, more than two billion people in the world do not have regular access to <\/span>drinking water<\/span><\/a> safe, a problem that is also reflected in food and sanitary conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The sustainable and responsible use of water is therefore a global imperative, with direct impacts on the environment, economy and society.<\/span><\/p>\n

DKR's commitment to sustainable water management<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The world celebrations on 5 and 7 June emphasise a clear message: <\/span>environment, water and food security are interconnected dimensions<\/b> and inseparable to ensure a sustainable and just future for all.<\/span><\/p>\n
